The pine lounge chair from Max Lamb for Finnish label Vaarnii is a real eye-catcher. The chair was created by Max Lamb and has a bold, robust design that is crafted in Finland from solid pine wood!

Although the chair is apparently hard and bulky, it is surprisingly comfortable to sit on thanks to the convex recesses in the seat and backrest. At the same time, the curves add an interesting visual detail to the simple and uncomplicated construction of the lounge chair, partly due to the natural grain of the pine wood material.

Note:
Pine is a soft wood and will eventually come to life through the resulting dents and scratches, which should be embraced and enjoyed as characteristic signs of aging. Pine wood will naturally change color as it ages (patination), with your pale furniture piece gradually maturing to a beautiful warm honey color over a number of years.

Max Lamb (born 1980) is an acclaimed British designer known for his original – if not idiosyncratic – design language: true to his unique approach, he creates modern classics that often resemble works of art, yet are exceptionally functional. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, Lamb favors natural, uncomplicated materials such as wood and metal, expertly reshaping them using a combination of traditional and highly innovative methods.
