Ark Armchair by Danish designer Simon Legald.
The Normann Copenhagen Ark serie takes its name from the Danish word for arches and subtle curves to create a clear visual softness.
Simon Legald plays with curves and volume, creating a piece of furniture that is both minimalistic and full of depth with a rich texture. The back and armrests appear to be divided into individual cushions, neatly arranged to create a unique composition. The steel frame makes the chair seem to lift off the ground and give it a certain lightness.

The designer:
“Honesty is what makes a product understandable and what describes the functionality of the products. If you understand the product, it needs no explanation. The essence of my design is that it is bought and used. Therefore, it must satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me, simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them reliable. In my designs I try not to add unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by emphasizing the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest look.”
