Light, elegant, and artistic, that's how the Penguin series can best be described.
The Penguin series has become a rare Danish modern icon and was designed by the Danish furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen in 1953.
When it was launched in the United States, the chair was also known as the Ib Kofod-Larsen Chair. – and has thus become the signature of Kofod-Larsen. The proportions with the slightly oversized seat and backrest, the large organically shaped shell in contrast to the slender, slender frame have something playful about them. But at the same time, The Penguin series is a sophisticated, bold design with a lot of personality.
The all-round chair, but anything but ordinary. The penguin-shaped flippers on the back of the chair are typical of Ib Kofod-Larsen's simple and honest aesthetic. The backrest molds itself to the body to ensure comfort and support as well as a unique seating experience. The Penguin Dining Chair is perfect for you at the dining table.

About the designer:
Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003) was one of the pioneers of Danish modern in the 1950s. Kofod-Larsen received his architecture degree from the Royal Danish Academy and also worked as a designer - one of his best-known works is the Knitting Chair from 1951.
Rather than a regional phenomenon, Kofod-Larsen saw Scandinavian design as part of international modernism, and he became one of the best-selling Danish architects in the United States in the 1950s. He also collaborated with many furniture manufacturers in the US, Europe and Japan.
