The Bluebell is a handmade rug designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle for the Swedish company Asplund.
The white base is a 100% New Zealand wool and the blue flowers are a Tencel blend. The designer duo wanted to make a modern interpretation of a classic floral pattern. They went to a flower shop and bought many favorite flowers, then climbed a tall ladder in the studio and threw the petals on a large white sheet. The result was the Fleur rug and they continued with the Bluebell rug.
ASPLUND's hand-tufted rugs are made of high-quality New Zealand wool that is rich in natural fats that give the rug a natural shine and at the same time offer good protection against stains.
The carpet is available in three sizes: 90 x 150, 160 x 240, 200 x 300 cm.
About the designers
In terms of form, Broberg & Ridderstråle always try to add something that touches the emotional side of people. Something that has a symbolic meaning or a meaningful element. They are inspired by everyday life and combine the rational with a humorous twist.
Together they run Broberg & Ridderstråle Design & Architecture in Stockholm. They often use classic shapes, but always change a detail, making their furniture and carpets emerge from anonymity.
