Marimekko, founded in 1951 by the grand lady of Finnish design Armi Ratia, this iconic Finnish design company makes clothing, textiles and home accessories.

Since its founding, Marimekko has relied on the innovative courage of young and talented designers. Contemporary designers such as Maija Loekari, Carina Seth Andersson and Sami Ruotsalainen continue the strong traditions of Maija Isola, the designer of the iconic Unikko pattern, and Annika Rimala, the creator of the Tasaraita pattern.

The heart of Marimekko's pattern design is its own textile printing factory in Helsinki, Finland, where more than a million meters of fabric are printed annually. Refining fashion and patterns since birth, Marimekko's creations have a vibrant and distinctive look that reflects the lifestyle that founder Armi Ratia envisioned.
