Piet Hein Eek graduated from the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven in 1990 with his now iconic Classic Cabinet made of reclaimed wood. At a time when perfection and mass production became the norm, he opted for craftsmanship and simplicity. This is reflected in all his designs, where character and craftsmanship are paramount.

In his workshop in Eindhoven, each product is made by hand, with an eye for detail and love for the material. In addition to his well-known tables and cabinets made of reclaimed wood, he and his team make much more: beautiful vases, lamps, wood-burning stoves and custom-made interior projects.

Since 2024, Piet Hein Eek and VanMokum – a leading Amsterdam manufacturer and agent of design brands – have been working together to produce a selection of his lamps in series.
