This is the beautiful Bright Malus pendant lamp by Jonas Hoejgaard made by the Danish company Nordic Tales!
The word Malus means "apple" in Latin. Did you know that there are more than 7500 varieties of apples in the world? But they all have the same iconic shape. This shape is very natural to us, and has been hanging over our heads for millions of years.
The resemblance to an apple can be seen not only in the beautiful outline of the lamp, defined by the mouth-blown glass, but the loose swing of the string also mimics a natural stem. Just as an apple is supplied with nutrients by its stem, the Bright Malus is illuminated by its stem. The lamp is made of two mouth-blown mirror shells. One is opaque, the other is diffuse. It emits three different types of light. A light directed at the table for optimal color rendering, a diffused upward light that does not dazzle and a semi-diffused light to prevent a strong shadow between the focused light and the environment.
The lamp has a diameter of 24.9 cm and is 20 cm high. The cable that supports the Bright Malus is 2 meters long, the power cable is 3 meters long and is available in cream or black.
The light source is not included, we recommend an E27 max 25W lamp or a LED for more light output.
