The Color Cabinet collection, designed for Hay by Belgian designers and visual artists Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen, plays with the contrast between the minimalism of lines and the vibrant of colour, enhancing the natural beauty of the thoroughly dyed material. Each piece is both functional and playful.
The cabinet is made of organically dyed Valchromat - a unique type of robust MDF material that is FSC certified, with a supporting frame made of durable steel. The Color cabinets are available in a wide range of variants and sizes, in both mono and multi-colour options - from a single wall cabinet to a low media storage unit to a multi-shelf cabinet with sliding glass doors.

Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by the duo of Belgian descent , Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen .
Hannes Van Severen, son of the legendary designer Maarten Van Severen, is a sculptor born in 1979 in Ghent, Belgium. Studying on the campus of the LUCA School of Arts' Sint-Lukas, he first obtained his master's degree in sculpture and then went on to obtain a second master's degree in sculpture at the Higher Institute of Visual Arts in Sint-Lukas.
Fien Muller is also an artist, born in Lokeren, Belgium in 1978. Between 1995 and 2000 she studied photography at the Hogeschool Gent – Faculty of Fine Arts (KASK) and obtained her master's degree in photography. She then studied sculpture on the campus of the LUCA School of Arts' Sint-Lukas in Ghent and obtained a master's degree in sculpture.
Muller Van Severen has collaborated with prestigious galleries such as Kreo in Paris, Matter in New York or Andreas Murkudis in Berlin. From their conservatory converted into a home-studio in Ghent, the makers work together with prestigious brands such as HAY, Petit H or Hermès.
