The Easter witch vase is an expressive ceramic object designed by the Finnish company for Artek. This one is inspired by an old Finnish spring tradition where children dress up as witches, decorate willow branches with feathers and go from door to door wishing their neighbors a healthy year and asking for small treats in return. The Easter witch and the Easter dog can be used as decorative objects, but also as vases for flowers or willow branches.
The collection celebrates the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Finland and Japan. When designing the objects, Company considered what kind of gifts the Finnish delegation could have taken with Japan a hundred years ago. Each of the handcrafted, charmingly naive objects celebrates one seasonal ritual of the Finnish calendar.
