Base made of powder-coated round and shaped sheet steel. Polyurethane foam seat and back with Vitra Twill fabric covers (70% virgin wool and 30% polyamide). Armrests in oiled solid natural, solid dark oak or solid American walnut, depending on the finish.
The chair comes with felt glides for use on hard floors.
About the French designer:
Jean Prouve was born into an artistic family in Nancy, France. Prouve trained as a metalsmith before attending technical school in Nancy, and his deep knowledge of metal remained the foundation of his work and career.
After opening his own workshop in 1923, Prouve began producing modern metal furniture of his own design and collaborated with some of the best-known French designers of the time, including Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand.
