The Fauteuil Direction Pivotant was rediscovered in the archives of Jean Prouve, the first design is from 1951!, adapting the different finishes to the modern and eclectic tastes of today.
Created by Vitra and designed by Jean Prouvé, this brand new Fauteuil Direction Pivotant armchair by Jean Prouvé has been transformed in its historic colours.
The Fauteuil Direction, designed in 1951, reflects Prouvé's simple understanding that chair designs put the most strain on the hind legs. To solve this weight distribution problem, Prouvé created lightweight all-round supports and a strong metal base that transfers the weight of the sitter to the floor.
This edition features natural oak accents on the arms and a back and seat upholstered in Vitra's robust natural twill fabric, offering optimal weight distribution and masterful balance, now revised with Prouvé's well-considered color palette, which he invented to give his designs a signature look.
A beautiful and (office) chair that will certainly attract attention in your home!
