The Gallery stool was a major design breakthrough when it was launched in 1998. With striking simplicity, the properties of moulded plywood are pushed to the maximum limit to form a sculptural seating object. The Gallery stool design is already considered a modern Danish design classic, even honored by making it a miniature.

Dimensions: W: 52 x D: 36 x H.48 cm - seat height: 42.5 cm. Indoor use only.

Material: black stained ash or lacquered walnut.

About the designer:

Born in Copenhagen in 1963, Hans Sandgren Jakobsen is known for his unique attention to detail and his ability to transform the ordinary into something special.

Originally trained as a furniture maker, Jakobsen then went on to study industrial design at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen. During this time he visited America to study the craftsmanship of the Shakers. After graduating as an industrial designer, he moved to Japan to work for COBO Design in Nagoya.

In his Radon series for light years, Jakobsen follows the principle that light brings space and furniture to life. Accordingly, his goal was to create an aesthetic experience in viewing the lamps and using the light they emit. He achieves this by limiting the number of details so that the overall design stands out.
