The reintroduction of the innovative and post-war design classic S–Table, by designer Marcel Gascoin for the Danish label Gubi.
Simple, sturdy and space-saving - the extendable S-Table shows designer Marcel Gascoin's mastery of form and function. The rectangular table top slides apart so that the two neatly concealed pull-out leaves slide into place, providing options for six, eight or ten guests.
Designed in 1951 by French designer Marcel Gascoin for the living quarters of Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in France, the ingenious flexibility and understated elegance that made it popular back then are just as relevant now.
When the table is not folded out, it has a width of 95 centimeters and a length of 220 centimeters. When the tops are folded out, the table has a length of 320 centimeters. The table has a height of 75 centimeters and thanks to this adjustable option you can vary from four, six, eight or up to 10 guests at the dining table.
The recently reissued table is based on Gascoin's original drawings with a few minor tweaks, such as a slight elevation of the table in relation to the height of modern humans.
