Designers Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle say they got the idea of corrugated cardboard, which they often use in creating architectural models.
In geometry, Romb's quadrangular shape is called a rhombus, with all four sides measuring the same. The unusual shape gives Romb a striking appearance, but is at the same time a practical solution: the shape makes the luminaire slimmer, so that it even fits on a narrower shelf or windowsill. The lamp is both an uplighter and a downlight and emits an indirect glow, which also emphasizes the fascinating geometry of the lamp.
