The Atelier bar stool from Artek has a balanced appearance and a lightweight construction, making it suitable for restaurants, cafes and home use. The gently curved seat and connecting rods between the front legs give the bar stool an easy, relaxed atmosphere, and the footrests are reinforced with aluminum inlays for extra stability and durability.
The Atelier collection was designed in 2018 when the Swedish TAF Studio was commissioned to design the interior for a new restaurant at Stockholm's National museum - the chair got its name because the dining room it stands in resembles an artist's studio.
The Finnish Artek was chosen as the manufacturer because of its high quality and long expertise with wood. The Atelier chairs are made in Italy from locally produced woods.

About the designers:
Swedish architects Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Ståhlbom have been running the architecture and design studio TAF (formerly TAF Architects) in Stockholm, Sweden, since 2002. The goal of TAF Studio is to make ordinary life less ordinary by applying subtle but effective changes in products and architecture. A recurring principle in TAF Studio's projects is that everyday objects can be made unusual precisely because of their everydayness.
