The original design was made of brass, but Vitra later developed a steel version of the table in collaboration with the Girard family. This version is not only low-maintenance but also suitable for outdoor use.
The cheerful Flower Table was originally created for the famous Miller House. Girard was in charge of the interior design of the house and one of the special features was a sunken lounge area with a built-in sofa on each side - Girard designed Flower Table as the centerpiece of this conversation space.
The Miller House is located in the US, in Columbus, Indiana, and today serves as a museum. The copper Flower Table still stands in the center of the lounge area where it can be admired during a visit to the museum.
