Modular residential landscapes were Verner Panton's most frequently used subjects. The Living Tower, first presented as part of the Phantasy Landscape at the Visiona exhibition in 1970.
The organically shaped sculpture of two composite elements can be used on four levels. All seating options are ergonomically shaped and therefore extremely comfortable. The facing arrangement of the individual seats actively promotes communication. A birch plywood frame provides stability for the Living Tower. The polyurethane foam upholstery is covered with fabric and provides the desired comfort.
Due to its shape, the Living Tower can also be used as a room divider and adds a sense of security in the somewhat large open spaces. The tower is covered with Tonus upholstery in the color red. The tower is also available in dark blue on request.
The Living Tower, the Living Sculpture, has been part of the design collection of the Center Pompidou in Paris, France since 1991.

About the designer:
Once conceived, Verner Panton used the Living Tower for many room designs throughout his life. The restaurant Varna Palace and his private villa in the canton of Basel-Stadt are two more examples of this. The production of the residential tower has a turbulent history: built by Herman Miller from 1969 to 1970; produced by Fritz Hansen in Denmark until 1975; in 1997, Stega upholstered in Switzerland; since 1999, the Living Tower now comes from vitra.
