Abat-Jour Conique by Vitra is a lampshade, designed by Jean Prouvé, for the Potence wall lamp.
It has a simple, geometric shape that is also reflected in the name: Abat-Jour Conique is French and literally means "conical lampshade".
Earlier in the 1940s, Prouvé designed an extremely minimalist lamp called Potence, and the Abat-Jour Conique was created specifically in 1947 as an addition to Potence.
Prouvé is known as a pioneer of modular design solutions, and the Abat-Jour Conique is also an excellent example of its ideology: the lampshade fits both the Potence lamp and the smaller version, Petit Potence, and is easy to install. install and remove.
