The Holocene No.4 is a contemporary take on a traditional oil lamp, the Holocene No.4 Portable Oil Lamp is the work of renowned British designer and architect John Pawson for Wastberg.
The oil lamp exemplifies John Pawson's understated approach to design, with minimal details and a dedication to form and function. The Holocene is a portable oil lamp that emits ambient and mood light while the wick burns.
Inspired by the shape of a crucible, the lamp has a matte metal outer surface, combined with a glossy inner core, designed to reflect the flame of the oil lamp and thereby intensify options. Thanks to an extended handle, the lamp can be easily moved between your rooms, used outside in the garden or patio, or hung on a wall.
