About the designer:
George Nelson studied architecture at the renowned Yale University and completed his studies at the American Academy in Rome. From 1935 to 1944 he was editor-in-chief of the 'Architectural Forum'.
After establishing his own architectural and industrial design office in 1946, he began collaborating with Vitra in 1957. His pieces, such as the Coconut chair, his clocks and the Marshmallow sofa, are highly regarded among the design classics of the 20th century.
