Royal Guardsman Tivoli Drummer 1942.
The Royal Guardsmen have watched over the Danish castles since 1658 - with their bearskin, red dress uniform and a cross on the chest.
Ever since Kay Bojesen designed his guards in 1942, they have been popular, at national parties, and companies, with the Danish predominating on an international level.
Kay Bojesen could create original stories in wood like no other. He could bring wood to life. Or as he put it: “The line needs to smile”. And that also applies to the entire series of wooden figures
Just take a look at this special red and white Tivoli edition of little Drummer, who, like all famous Guardsmen, is inspired by one of Denmark's national symbols on Amalienborg Palace Square.
The little Tivoli guardsman is made of FSC®-certified beech wood and the manual production with paint and printing is carried out with the great precision and care that characterize Kay Bojesen's wooden figurines. It is a perfect gift for special occasions such as anniversaries, weddings, christenings and birthdays.
In 1992 this design was awarded the Formland Prize with the approval of Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe of Denmark.
