The 1930 Grand Prix cutlery collection is one of the most renowned works by the now iconic Danish designer Kay Bojesen.
In the 1930s, Kay Bojesen set out to create a versatile cutlery range suitable for both everyday use and special occasions, with the aim that these pieces could be passed down from generation to generation as cherished timeless heirlooms.
At the Milan Triennale in 1951, he won first prize – the Grand Prix – for his silver cutlery, and the collection has been known by this name ever since. After the profit, the cutlery was introduced in a matte steel version and in 2011 the series was expanded with several polished steel utensils.

About the designer:
Kay Bojesen (1886-1958) is one of the most important pioneers of Danish design. Trained as a silversmith in Georg Jensen's workshop, he designed various products in silver, such as cutlery and serving dishes, including his famous Grand Prix cutlery. Kay Bojesen also worked with other materials and was particularly interested in exploring the possibilities of woodworking.
