The Zig Zag chair is by the designer and architect Gerrit Rietveld. The Zig Zag Chair was designed in 1932 and was intended for the Rietveld-Schröder House in Utrecht and fits into the Dutch art movement called De Stijl.

About the designer:

Gerrit Rietveld was a Dutch architect and furniture designer. He also made graphic work, including posters and covers for magazines, including one for De Community in 1925. He is best known as a member of De Stijl and as a true pioneer of new construction.
