Inspired by Maija Isola's iconic Marimekko design from 1956, the Isot Kivet carpet is a testament to timeless charm and "out of the box" design.

The rug is made with a three-dimensional combination of cut and loop pile stitch, and features the nature-inspired Isot Kivet pattern, Finnish for 'big stones'. Legend has it that the inspiration for Maija Isola's iconic design was sparked by the large, rough-edged stones scattered across the land where her studio was built. She creatively cut circles from paper to bring this signature motif to life.

The carpet has a playful yet refined look, making it an ideal addition to modern, minimalist and Scandinavian spaces. This rug is carefully hand-tufted from the finest New Zealand wool and features a subdued color palette of cream tones. Place the rug in the bedroom or living room – and jump from stone to stone!

Created in collaboration with renowned Dutch carpet maker Brink & Campman, the Marimekko carpet has a modern, minimalist look making it an ideal addition to contemporary Scandinavian-style spaces. About the designer:

Maija Isola (1927-2001) is probably Marimekko's best-known designer. The Finnish artist designed her first printed textiles in 1949 for Printex Oy, the predecessor of Marimekko. Until 1987 she worked as chief designer of Marimekko's interior fabrics. She also had an illustrious career as a visual artist.
