The beautiful and elegant lounge chair PK25 is the work of Poul Kjærholm in his search for the ideal letter shape and industrial dimension, which was always present in his work.
The classic PK25 lounge chair, also called the 'Element' chair, was designed by Poul in 1951 for his graduation project at the School of Applied Arts in Copenhagen.
The chair is a great example of Kjaerholm's extraordinary work with ordinary, industrial materials. The aim of the design was to reduce the chair to one piece of any material, resulting in the chair's feature: a continuous and complex steel frame bent in one piece without any joints or connections.
The chair has a timeless and elegant design, which means it "stands the test of time" since the chair was designed in 1951. The chair will certainly take your living room to the next level!
Dimensions: Depth - 69 cm, Width - 73 cm, Height - 75 cm, the seat height is 40 cm.
Poul Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in various building materials; especially steel, which he regarded as a natural material with the same artistic finesse as other natural materials.
