Designed by Fredrik Paulsen.
The 001 stool from Vaarnii combines the well-known geometric shapes in a pleasantly surprising way: the legs are made of rectangular pieces of pine wood and the seat has the shape of a circle.
The stool may look stiff and angular, but believe it or not, it is surprisingly comfortable! The elegant stool not only serves perfectly as a seat, but also as a side table in the bedroom or in your hallway.
In addition to the distinct design language that is typical of Paulsen's designs, there is another element that Paulsen prefers, namely the presence of pine wood in the collection. According to the designer, the natural knots and grains of pine wood form fascinating patterns that are downright 'psychedelic' and are best seen on large surfaces - hence the voluminous design has plenty of it. Pine wood also ages very nicely thanks to the oils and resins that naturally occur in the wood. These change to a rich honey color when the wood is exposed to UV radiation, in short, the stool patinas beautifully!

Note:
Pine is a soft wood and will eventually come to life through the resulting dents and scratches, which should be embraced and enjoyed as characteristic signs of aging. Pine wood will naturally change color as it ages (patination), with your pale furniture piece gradually maturing to a beautiful warm honey color over a number of years.
