Karakter Riscio Table Lamp.

The Riscio lamp from Karakter is a 1967 design by Joe Colombo. It has been reissued with a modern light source, linked to a touch dimmer integrated into the upper part of the lamp.

The highly prolific Italian architect and designer Joe Colombo, believed in democratic and functional design, intended to be used in many different ways - all for the benefit of the user.

Colombo was way ahead of its time and relied on emerging materials and the latest technologies to bring its futuristic "live", many icons have already become due to the new way of life.

About the designer:

Joe Colombo (1930–1971) was an Italian industrial designer known for his futuristic style and interest in multifunctional, modular systems. After studying painting and architecture in Milan, Colombo worked actively as a painter and sculptor before starting his career as an industrial designer in the 1950s.
