Karakter Castore dining table.

The Castore table is made of glass and marble and is a design by Angelo Mangiarotti from 1975, designed for the Sorgente dei Mobili in that year.

The beautifully cut round glass top rests on a heavy marble pillar. The rounded edges of the table give it a soft appearance despite the use of marble.

The Castore dining table is available with three different marble bases, Bianco Carrara, Nero Marquina and Pietra Grey, and with two different glass tops, Clear Glass and Smoked Glass.

The dining table has a diameter of 130 cm and the height is 71.5 cm. Voet Ø38, glass table top thickness 10 mm. felt under the marble pillar and marble bowl. 

About the designer:

Mangiarotti was a prolific designer, responsible for design icons such as the "Lesbo" lamp (1967), the "Saffo" lamp (1967), the "Eros" table (1971), the "Spirale" pendant lamp (1974) and the "Skipper" table (1980). Biography Angelo Mangiarotti was born in Milan in 1921. He opened an architectural firm with Bruno Morassutti. In 1989 he founded Mangiarotti & Associates in Tokyo. From 1986 to 1992 he was artistic director of Colle Cristalleria. Mangiarotti has played a major role in plastic research. His personality, his work and his creations have made him a notable figure in Italian design.
