The chair AAC 222 from the new AAC 200 series is a further addition to the Hay AAC collection / about a chair by designer Hee Welling for the Danish label Hay. This beautiful and timeless chair is again a nice addition to the existing AAC collection with its low backrest and wide seat shell.
The latest collaboration between HAY and designer Hee Welling, the AAC
200 series, however, retains the fundamental idea shared by the AAC family
this model is characterized by its new shell construction. Designed with optimal functionality in mind, the curved shell has a slightly higher back and a deep, generous seat that combines inviting aesthetics with a high level of comfort.
The lower armrests provide good support, while the chair fits well under a table or desk and offers a practical and compact seating solution. Made from post-consumer recycled plastic, the AAC 200 series includes a variety of colors and upholstery options, as well as:
different basic types, making it a versatile and functional collection suitable
for a wide range of domestic, office and public settings.
The comfortable chair has 4 slim tube frame tube legs in chrome steel. The chair is also available with a swivel 4 star base and an oak base (oak or soaped oak) and runs very elegantly from wide to narrow tapered legs. The oak chair legs are slightly slanted outwards for a solid base.
The dimensions of the chair are: 59 centimeters wide, 54 centimeters deep and 82 centimeters high. The seat height: 46,5 centimeters and the seat depth 42 cm.

About Hee Welling:
Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. Welling has received a number of design awards, including the Bo Bedre Award (Denmark), Good Design Award (USA) and has been nominated as the Danish designer of the year in both 2013 and 2014. Welling is the son of a cabinetmaker, and his fascination with production techniques, materials and machinery was fired as a child.
He went on to study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (where he is also now a design tutor). His design ethos is centred around the idea of creating technically accomplished products that can reach a wide audience. His work is characterised by a great sense of proportion and quietly elegant looks.
