Vitra Herringbone vase.

The transformations of different materials and shapes when parts of them are dipped in a dye bath exert an almost magical fascination on the designers duo Shay Alkalay and Yael Mer.

In 2018 Raw-Edges designed the layout and layout for an entire floor of the Vitra-Haus on the Vitra Campus. For this project they developed a series of cushions and small tree-like wooden objects with patterns based on this painting technique. These pieces attracted a lot of interest, which led to the decision to further refine the designs and put it into production.

The color scheme and sharpness of the pattern contours vary depending on the particular material to which it is applied.

This dyeing process produces a unique pattern so that no vase or bowl is the same. The Herringbone vase is ribbed and available in the colors green and yellow. Dimensions :
