About the designer:
The Italian architect, sculptor and designer Angelo Mangiarotti was born in Milan in 1921. Mangiarotti is said to have said: "Happiness comes from honesty". A quote that refers to his overall design approach, rooted in the firm belief that architecture was a practical discipline and that industrial design was an expression of fine craftsmanship.
He wanted every single material to be respected and used in an appropriate and honest way. His work is included in exhibitions and collections of the world's leading art and design institutions, such as Centre Pompidou in Paris, Triennale Design Museum in Milan and Gallery MA in Tokyo.
