The LCM Chair Leather was designed in 1945 by the designer couple Charles & Ray Eames for Vitra.

The LCM Leather Chair, which is part of the Plywood Group by Charles & Ray Eames, is made of thinly shaped sheets of ash wood. The normally stiff material becomes a soft support for the body and back through this special production process, which is why this chair from Vitra adapts wonderfully to your needs and is particularly comfortable.

The height of the LCM Leather Chair by Vitra is 68 cm. The LCM Leather - the abbreviation stands for Lounge Chair Metal - has a seat shell that is available with a black leather upholstery or in the color chocolate brown. The LCM Chair Leather includes protective felt glides for hard floors!

With these chairs, a lot of attention has been paid to the body shapes, so that you can sit very comfortably. The organic shape and natural appearance of the wood also invite you to sit.

The designers:

Ray and Charles Eames were an American designer couple whose names are known to anyone with an interest in modern design. Charles Eames was born in 1907 in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied architecture at the University of Washington and, at the invitation of the Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen, continued his studies at the Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Michigan in 1940. There he met Eero Saarinen, with whom he entered a competition called 'Organic Design in Home Furnishing”, organized by the MoMA in New York. Eames and Saarinen won the competition using a plywood molding technique originally developed by Alvar Aalto. In Cranbrook, Charles Eames also met her future wife Ray, and the couple married in 1941.
