Design by Tom Dixon.
The Melt wall lamp is the result of experiments done with vacuum metallization. It is a distorted sphere that originated from a collaboration with the Swedish design collective Front. The light that is reflected on the odd surface makes it look like hot blown glass. Melt wall lamp is translucent when the lamp is on, but reflective when the lamp is off.
The design of the Melt Surface Wall and ceiling lamp is inspired by the way glass forms through heat during glass blowing. When the lamp is switched off you will not immediately notice this, but as soon as the lamp is switched on, the solid copper exterior turns into a transparent glowing sphere.
The Melt Surface Wall and Ceiling Lamp is a beautiful lamp for the wall or ceiling. It is also possible to use the lamp as a table or floor lamp.
