The Piton from Muuto is a new take on the portable lamp with a rechargeable battery, which playfully refers to the old-fashioned flashlight.

The beautiful aluminum enhances the elegant shape and distinctive functionality, the lamp is inspired by tools used for mountaineering. It's a versatile ambient light with a battery life of 6 hours on full power and a whopping 13.5 hours on 50% brightness.

The possibilities are endless, use it lying, standing, tilting on a shelf or hanging from a shelf, depending on the space or place you want to illuminate, and the lamp can be used both indoors and outdoors.

The designer:

Tom Chung is an independent industrial designer who founded his studio of the same name in 2016. The studio, located in Toronto, has a focus on industrial objects and interior spaces. Forming a unique design process that combines contemporary culture and local industry, the studio creates context-driven industrial design pieces for domestic, institutional and public environments.
