The table lamp has a polypropylene lampshade, aluminum stem stand and the base is powder-coated in beautiful matching colors.
Thanks to Simon Legald's insight into form and proportions and his love for Scandinavian minimalism, this series was developed in collaboration with Normann Copenhagen.
The lamp has a striking pleated PVC shade, which has been a hallmark for table lamps for decades. The use of modern materials continues throughout the lamp, via the aluminum housing to the powder-coated steel base.
The base is reinforced by Legald's playful use of color, which gives the lamp its characteristic vibrancy.

About the designer:
Simon Legald studies design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and will graduate in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small and large-scale products.
“Fairness is what makes a product understandable and what describes the functionality of the products. If you understand the product, it needs no explanation. The essence of my design is that it can be bought and used.
Therefore, it must meet not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me, simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them reliable. In my designs I try not to add unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by emphasizing the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest appearance.”
