Northern's Acorn pendant is at the same time striking and beautifully blending into its surroundings .
Acorn’s streamlined shape was inspired by a natural form, giving it organic contours and an understated profile. The shade resembles the empty shell of an acorn, which becomes hollow once the ripened nut has broken free. Like an acorn’s stem, the top of the shade tapers into a tactile shape.
The Northern's Acorn pendant lamp is at the same time striking and also beautifully blending in to its surroundings. Designer Atle Tveit was inspired by Nordic nature and autumn forests: the ceiling light shade resembles the empty peel of an acorn. This is where the name of the luminaire comes from.
The elegance is evident in the most minor details of the Acorn pendant. The lamp's power cord is concealed within a luxury silk cord, and the ceiling cup looks like a lampshade. The Acorn pendant creates a soft light that spreads widely around the room and can be used to illuminate both dining areas and working spaces. Also available is a Acorn floor lamp.
This pendant lamp belongs to a new breed of designs that replicate the beauty of nature in a functional object. Made in aluminium and beech or walnut, and painted either white or grey, the lamp combines natural materials with unassuming colours. The latest black version highlights Acorn’s distinctive shape and creates greater contrast with the surroundings. Acorn is a natural complement to contemporary interiors, and a great way to shine light across table tops, desks and work surfaces.
