About the designer:
Arnold Madsen, is a little-known icon of Danish modernism, but was a driven and determined designer who created groundbreaking pieces of furniture. Atypical of many other designers of the period, Madsen had no formal training as an architect, designer or furniture maker.
A man of few words, he did little to advertise his creations. Through his work he explored form and materials, using round shapes to create striking and elegant designs, imbued with a characteristic visual lightness. His work is now available through Audo Copenhagen with this signature Oda Lounge Chair, which features Madsen's signature rigor and pioneering drive.
