The coffee table is a simple and unadorned table designed by the Finnish master furniture maker Antrei Hartikainen, who was inspired by ponds and water lilies when making the table. The design has a clever construction of wood and metal that creates the illusion that the tabletop floats over the base - like water lily leaves floating on the surface of the water.

The name of the coffee table, Parasol, refers to parasols, a playful nod to the structure of the table. The wooden base also serves as a storage basket for, for example, a blanket, children's toys or magazines, these items are covered by the table top as if it were a parasol.

About the designer:

Antrei Hartikainen (1991) is a Finnish designer and master furniture maker who likes to play and experiment with different possibilities of wood. Hartikainen, the son of a carpenter, has worked with wood all his life. Hartikainen's Kukkii sculpture series was awarded the Product of the Year 2017 award at the Finnish design gala Muoto, and its Verso salad kitchenware won the 2017 Golden A' Design Award. In 2018, Hartikainen received the Young Designer of the Year award, presented by Finland Design Forum.
