The candle holder from Design House Stockholm has a traditional Swedish design with a modern touch for all homes and styles.
It has a foldable design for a unique look. A perfect gift for yourself or someone else.
Its shape is reminiscent of pagan festivals, even of the Norse god Thor riding through the sky with a chariot attached to two goats. At the same time, it is a strong Swedish icon that should not only be cherished during Christmas.
The Pop Up is as thin as a postcard. But when unfolded, it holds a small candle tightly and grows even larger as it burns. The brass or stainless steel plates provide strength and a firm hold. Send this as a true Scandinavian Christmas present to friends, or why not use it to decorate your home all year round? 'The amazing thing about life in Sweden is the importance of light, especially during the dark season. Candlesticks, candlesticks, votives are not only functional, but they also create a very emotional and lively atmosphere in all kinds of settings.
Designed by Jan Klingler.
Jan Klingler started with a Darlecalia horse, another Swedish icon, for the Christmas market during his second year at Konstfack, Stockholm University of Arts, Crafts and Design. He also has a moose in the works, all three immensely popular not only in Sweden but also in his home country of Germany. The Christmas goat is sure to get many thinking about its giant namesake in the town of Gävle, though that has mostly been set on fire since the town started its tradition in the 1960s. "My pop-up will stay put, both safe and unharmed," assures Jan Klingler, who has been making light sculptures since presenting his intricate New Light as his master project at Konstfack 2018
