Thanks to its attractive simple shape, the Toldbod is a great fixture for above the dining table, alone or in groups. It is also ideal for illuminating a point of interest in the room.

The light distribution of the Toldbod range is based on the PH Ellipse reflector and was developed by Poul Henningsen. The glare-free downward light creates an exciting effect in any room and the color rendering properties of the light source make the pendant perfect for workplaces and other spaces that require a high natural color rendering. Available in sophisticated colors from Scandinavia's nature, the Toldbod collection adds a fresh, Scandinavian touch to any interior.

The Louis Poulsen design team has designed the Toldbod series based on the light distribution of the PH Ellipse reflector: the latest street lighting concept by Poul Henningsen. The Toldbod 290 series outdoor lighting was introduced in 1982.

Following on from this success, the Toldbod glass pendant lamps were launched. The metal pendant lamps were later added to the series and received four larger editions in 2019. The Toldbod pendant lamp casts most of the light down, according to PH's philosophy of shaping the light so it brightens up spaces - and never shines directly into the eye.

The mat-white painted interior of the elliptical screen provides an even light, ideal for both focused lighting and the overall atmosphere in the room. Louis Poulsen based his original Toldbod pendant lamp on the philosophy that the simpler the design, the greater the flexibility. While the Toldbod's soft yet precise shape is very pretty on its own, the design works beautifully in rows or groups, both in a single color and mixed color palette.
