Inspired by the Memphis movement that Italy popularized in the 1980s, the Tube Lounge is a design by Danish designer Simon Legald, lead designer at Normann Copenhagen.
This movement is known for its exuberant and playful aesthetic, which has now been tempered somewhat by the addition of Danish minimalist elements.
The chair offers you the perfect place to relax with a book or a glass of wine, with an extended backrest on which to rest your head. The chair's striking architectural construction offers comfort without sacrificing its breathtaking design.

About the designer:
Simon Legald studies design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and will graduate in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small and large-scale products.
“Fairness is what makes a product understandable and what describes the functionality of the products. If you understand the product, it needs no explanation. The essence of my design is that it can be bought and used. Therefore, it must meet not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs.
For me, simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them reliable. In my designs I try not to add unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by emphasizing the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest appearance.”
