The Ast stool from Vaarnii, a design by Dimitri Bähler, is characterized by an unpretentious design that combines the rustic with the modern.
The seemingly simple but robust stool consists of thick, sturdy pieces of pine wood, with the only decoration being the softly rounded edges and the knots and lively grains that are typical of pine. The name of the stool, Ast, is German and means 'branch', referring to the knots that underline the strong, but often overlooked material. In addition to an extra seat, you can use the Ast as a bedside table or side table.

Note:
Pine is a soft wood and will eventually come to life through the resulting dents and scratches, which should be embraced and enjoyed as characteristic signs of aging. Pine wood will naturally change color as it ages (patination), with your pale furniture piece gradually maturing to a beautiful warm honey color over a number of years.
