The aluminum chair is one of the greatest furniture designs of the twentieth century. Charles and Ray Eames originally designed it in 1958 for the private home of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA).
The aluminum chairs from Charles & Ray Eames have now found their way all over the world as true classics of the 20th Century. The designer couple kept the principle of the seat shell in the construction of the chair and stretched a fabric or leather track tightly but firmly between two aluminum side panels. The aluminum chair EA 103 adapts to the body and offers high comfort, even without extensive padding.
With these features, the EA 103 office chair is suitable for private use as well as in offices and public spaces. The aluminum chair EA 103 is ideal for use at the dining table: it is narrower than the other aluminum chairs, the seating position is upright and slightly higher.
Finished in impressive chrome and covered with characterful Hopsak fabric, the Vitra Eames EA 103 is the ideal chair for your home or office. Thanks to its fixed base, the EA 103 offers long-lasting comfort, while the chair's 30-year warranty ensures that the piece of furniture is a conscientious and ethical purchase.
A true icon of modernist design, the EA 103 has stood the test of time since it was first introduced in 1958, and is destined to remain a perennial favorite for generations to come.
Vitra has produced the Aluminum Group chairs in the same superior quality over a period of decades. Thanks to this experience, Vitra can offer a 30-year warranty on all chair models in the Aluminum Group.
The upholstery of the EA is made up of several layers, which are ultimately finished with the particularly strong fabric Hopsak (100% polyamide) or leather. If you choose a leather seat, the back of the seat is made of Plano fabric. The swivel base made of polished aluminum is equipped with gliders. If you are looking for a different color of fabric or leather, that is possible.
