The Vitra's EM Table is a streamlined table designed by French engineer and designer Jean Prouvé for the modernist prefabricated residential project La Maison Tropicale in 1950.
The powder-coated steel frame and diagonal legs of EM Table conform to the structural principles of architecture and engineering. The simple, rectangular table top is available in a solid wood version or in laminate. The EM Table has now become a timeless classic that can serve as an excellent dining or conference table, and it fits seamlessly with the Standard chairs from Prouvé in terms of shape and colors.

About the designer:
Jean Prouvé (1909-1984) was a French metalworker, engineer and self-taught architect and designer, who had a major influence on European post-war design and design philosophy. Social conscience and good accessibility were essential starting points for Prouvé's designs, which were often based on prefabricated houses, modular systems and mass production.
