The organic shaped Orient hanging lamp is a design by Jo Hammerborg from 1963, and recently re-released and available in various options. The lamp is characterized by its organic design and elegant Scandinavian design.
The Orient is available in versions; a matte black lacquered and a copper-colored one finished with warm rosewood and a matte aluminum variant with an oak top. A nice detail are the translucent openings at the top of the hood, which allow subtle light to escape.
The lamp is available in three sizes:
Small: diameter 22.5 x h. 24.5cm. / Cord 3 meters (black, copper and aluminum)
Medium: diameter 34 x h. 37 cm. / Cord 3 meters (black, copper and aluminum)
Large: diameter 50 x h. 54 cm. / Cord 6 meters (black and aluminum)
Fitting : E27 light source is not included.
About the designer:
Jo Hammerborg (1920-1982) was a Danish designer who worked as chief designer for Fog & Morup. Thanks to his hard work, Hammerborg left the company in history as one of the pioneers of their time. Many of the lamps Hammerborg designed for Fog & Morup have received various awards and recognitions.
