Moooi x Royal Delft present a special collection: original Delft Blue tiles from the Extinct Animals collection by Moooi. Inspired by the enchanting illustrations from The Museum of Extinct Animals, eight unique ceramic tiles have been designed and handcrafted in the studio in Delft.

Each tile depicts an extinct animal species in fine Delft Blue and together they form an impressive and artistic collection. An ode to bygone beauty, captured in traditional craftsmanship and timeless design.

The Pogo Goat, with its fluffy fur and distinctive shell-shaped horns, lived high in the mountains of Alkebulan for most of the year. During the coldest months, this migratory animal would migrate to the sea cliffs at the southernmost tip of the continent. Regardless of the season or location, the Pogo Goats always had one preference: cliffs. And the steeper, the better.

The origin of the name “Pogo Goat” is still unclear to this day. Some believe it has to do with their migration tracks, which resembled a series of dance steps. Others claim to have seen Pogo Goats literally dancing on the steepest mountainsides, with abandon and without fear.

These mountain goats celebrated life on the edge – literally and figuratively. The special shells were not only a visual highlight, but also had a magical effect: they transformed the whistle of the wind into soft, melodious sounds. No wonder the Pogo Goats could never stand still.

Yet their magnificent horn had a downside. Because of its size, the animals sometimes got caught in crevices in the rocks. And if they broke free, they could fall down. But even in their fall, they kept smiling peacefully, floating through the clouds, their hooves still in a dance movement – ​​as if they were performing their last dance, on their way to the unknown.

A tribute to daring, lightness and freedom – the Pogo Goat reminds us how beautiful it is to live to the rhythm of your own melody.
